How Can We Help?
At Axis Physiotherapy, we’re committed to providing you with the best possible care and support. We understand that navigating your health and wellness journey can sometimes feel overwhelming, so we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions our patients ask. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us—we’re here to help
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No, you do not need a formal referral to see one of our physiotherapists. We are considered "first contact" practitioners, which means we have the expertise to assess, diagnose, treat, and guide you through your recovery without needing prior approval from a doctor.
That said, some extended health insurance plans may require a doctor's referral for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your plan's requirements.
What should I bring to my appointment?
To ensure a smooth and efficient appointment, please bring the following:
-
Any imaging reports (X-rays, MRIs, etc.) or scans relevant to your condition.
-
Training programs or exercise plans, if applicable.
-
Any other medical records or information you think may be helpful for your treatment.
If you’re unsure about what to bring, don’t worry! Our physiotherapists will let you know if anything else is needed during your visit.
Can the physiotherapist refer me for X-Rays or Imaging?
Yes, our physiotherapists are able to directly refer you for X-rays, MRIs, or other diagnostic imaging, if needed. In some cases, we may also refer you to your doctor for further consultation and a referral.
We aim to ensure that your diagnosis is accurate so that we can develop the best treatment plan for your recovery.
Is there parking?
Yes, we offer convenient in-house parking for all our patients. You won’t have to worry about finding a parking spot, so you can focus on what really matters—your recovery.
